The active ingredient of BOTOX® (which is made by Allergan Ltd) is Botulinum toxin A, which causes muscles to relax. BOTOX® is a prescription only medicine that is injected into muscles and is indicated for neurological disorders such as limb spasticity, symptomatic relief of blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm and idiopathic cervical dystonia (spasmodic torticollis) and prophylaxis of headaches in adults with chronic migraine.
